<br />l' <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA.COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council and Planning Commission conducted a special joint workshop on <br />Thursday, September 10, 1998, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard <br />NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br />Commissioner Leo Anderson <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br />Commissioner Joe Wivoda <br /> <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Commissioner David Bawden <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br /> <br />City Administrator James Norman <br />Community Development Director Cindy Sherman <br />Community Development Assistant Sean Walther <br />Brad Scheib, Planning Consultant with Hoisington-Koegler Group <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the special joint workshop to order at 5:19 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCIL/COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1 : <br /> <br />Review Draft Comprehensive Plan <br /> <br />Brad Scheib, consultant with Hoisington-Koegler, discussed the reasons for planning, how to use <br />the Comprehensive Plan, and the role of the Planning Commission. He stressed the importance <br />of reaching as much of a consensus as possible before presentation to the public. He outlined the <br />critical issues of the Plan, noting the need to concentrate on futurity. He mentioned that the park <br />recommendations are very general, and that the mobile home park is identified as such (as <br />opposed to high or medium density residential). He explained that assumptions were made and <br />projections were based on Metropolitan Council recommendations. Although the Plan is not <br />going to meet those guidelines due to development limitations (Le., wetlands), it will get close. <br /> <br />City Council-Planning Commission Joint Workshop/October 8, 1998 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
