Lot Size With Public Sewer (Riparian) Lot Size With Public Sewer (Non-Riparian) Lot Width at Building Line and River Frontage Rear Yard Setback Mississippi River Recreational Corridor Trail A future regional trail has been proposed along the Mississippi River since the late 1970's. Anoka County is the designated responsible unit of government for implementing and maintaining the trail since it will traverse several communities within the County. The City adopted Ordinance 90-02 (attached) which describes the alignment and right-of-way width for the proposed regional trail. The ordinance was reviewed by Metropolitan Council and Anoka County prior to adoption. The City will work through the development process to provide trail right-of-way in accord with the ordinance. Figure 3 illustrates the proposed trail location and trail right-of-way widths. It is intended that the trail east of the Anoka County Park will be a single paved treadway serving primarily pedestrian and bikes. It's recognized that these users would ideally be on separate treadways where high volumes of use are expected, however, no use projections have been generated by either the County or MC. The proposed Rivenwick Addition will allow for the trail corridor being connected to the Anoka County Park located along the river. This section of trail will be connected as shown in Figure 3 with other trail sections located to the east approaching the eastern City limits. The inclusion of this section will complete the trail up to the proposed Mississippi River Bridge crossing leaving a section approximately 2 1/4 miles to the western City boundary. The trail right-of-way west of the Anoka County Park is wider and is intended to provide a paved tre.adway for bikes and pedestrians and a separate turftreadway for horses and possibly cross country skiing. With the future bridge crossing, a long term goal is to link this trail with the trails in Elm Creek Regional Park. Interface with City Park System The City recently adopted a revised parks plan as shown on Figure 3 (May 22, 1990) which integrates the Mississippi River Corridor trail with other elements of the City's parks plan. The basic concept of the parks plan is to continue to develop organized athletic facility complexes at Central Park, expansion of Central Park and providing additional area for athletic fields nearer the urban area. 27
