The Trott Brook corridor is moderately suitable for trail development. The physical limitations for the trail include sandy soil texture, steepness of slope, and depth to water. Other limitations include the high costs of installing a trail system, large amounts of private land, and distance from local schools. The recommendations made for the Trott Brook trail include placing the trail on the south side with an asphalt surface. Placing the trail on the south side following equal elevation contour lines will enable the trail to be closer to the Brook. Costs will be lowered because less boardwalk crossings are needed. Asphalt is more durable and will not weather as much as other surface choices. The trail should be constructed ten feet wide to allow comfortable passing between trail users and maintenance or emergency vehicles. Snowmobile activity is not recommended for this trail, due to the sensitivity of the area. This activity is unfavorable because it would contribute to degradation of the trail, soil disturbance, noise pollution, and conflict with non-snowmobiling trail users.
