It includes the city <br /> Sculpture Stroll, murals, and art activities that have active community participation. The art is <br /> accessible without and not necessarily associated with an art institution. <br /> Citizen Arts Commissioners and Artists <br /> There are three respondents in this category from Community B. <br /> This respondent serves on the City's Public Arts Commission. In this position, she is <br /> responsible for reviewing art proposals, helps with artist submissions, and helps determine what <br /> type of art is appropriate for Community B. She is in the 60+ age bracket, has a Bachelor's <br /> degree in Art Education, and has been on the Public Arts Commission for six years. She has <br /> owned a home in the community for 47 years, and has a family farm approximately 25 miles <br /> away. Her definition of public concerning art is anyone that views it. In her opinion, public art <br /> is for residents and visitors, and people that may not even notice the art at first. She believes <br /> public art has to be accessible and that the majority of the people need to be able to relate to it. <br /> Public art is art that is not in a gallery or a museum. It includes sculptures outside, or in places <br /> such as a shopping mall. It can include landscaping design and architecture in the community. <br /> This respondent serves on the City's Public Arts Commission. In this position, she has <br /> served on art juries, and helped administer the City's annual Sculpture Stroll. She has been on <br /> the Arts Commission for three years. She is also a practicing artist and art business owner in the <br /> community. She serves on a state citizen's art board, and is a board member of the Minnesota <br /> Pottery Festival. She is in the 3 5-44 age bracket. She has a Bachelor's degree in Political <br /> Science and Journalism with a minor in art, and a Master's degree in Fund Raising and Non- <br /> 88 <br />
