Magney has completed the
concrete pours for the reservoir as well as most of the concrete pours up to 128' of the Water Treatment
Plant. Subcontractors have completed electrical conduit installation within the electrical room and floor
slabs throughout the facility. Subcontractors have completed block work for the chemical rooms, stairwell
and well access room. Steel beam installation has be completed in the pipe gallery up to elevation 109'.
Waterproofing and insulation on both the walls and lid of the reservoir has been installed. Site piping has
been installed for sanitary, raw, and finished water connecting to utility in the right of way. Our engineering
team has continued to coordinate with Magney and further refine the installation details of other pieces of
equipment. Through those investigations we have identified some items that will require adjustments. This
letter is intended to outline those adjustments and summarize the current project budget in order for the
City to fully understand the status of the project.
Basis for of Construction Contingency Expenses:
Currently eighteen (18) requests for pricing (RFP) have been submitted to Magney. To date AE2S has
received pricing back on all eighteen (18) of the RFP's, and has received thirteen (13) separate Contractor
proposals. The Engineer has received all of the received proposals and recommends that the Owner move
forward with approving Construction Contingency Expense No. 8, which includes Proposal No. 028, No.
029, Proposal No. 030, and Proposal No. 031. Descriptions of the changes are described below and
proposals and associated initiation documents are attached for reference. If the Contractor would like to
include a request for extension as a result of these changes, a formal Change Order request will be issued
at a different time.
Proposal
No.
Initiation
Description
p
Total Cost
Required
q
Status
001 RFP 001 Mixing Pumps Pipe $51,287.38 Y Approved —
Upsizing Construction Contingency Expense 1
002 RFP 003
003 Incidental
004 RFP 002
005
006
007
008
RFP 006
RFP 005
RFP 004
City
Request
Admin Ceiling Grid
Color
Building Permit
Reimbursement
Upsizing Air
Exchange in Plate
Settler Room
Storm and Plumbing
Updates
Flowable Fill
Blower Pipe
Upsizing
Groundbreaking
Signage
Reimbursement
$2,609.25
$62,887.28
$16,580.02
$22,550.28
$55,230.60
$956.12
Y
N
Y
Approved —
Construction Contingency Expense 1
Approved —
Construction Contingency Expense 2
Approved —
Construction Contingency Expense 2
Approved —
Construction Contingency Expense 1
N Rejected
Approved —
Construction Contingency Expense 2
Approved —
Construction Contingency Expense 2
Y
Y
Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc.
6901 East Fish Lake Road, Suite 184 • Water Tower Place Business Center • Maple Grove, MN 55369 • 763-463-5036
