I <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Otter stated he would talk about the landfill plans for a few minutes following the IPS <br />meeting. <br /> <br />A resident asked how the company would get all the restaurants to cooperate and to <br />separate plastics, etc. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Otter stated money would get them to cooperate. IPS would be providing the <br />restaurants with an economically based service. They will get by cheaper. <br /> <br />Mr. Lucia wasn't certain it would save them money because when the recycling was. <br />introduced in the City, his garbage pick-up rates went up. <br /> <br />Mr. Otter suggested he contact his garbage company. <br /> <br />Ms. Lemke asked for a definitive list of the compost materials that will be accepted. <br /> <br />Mr. Hanahan listed the following: food waste, grocery and restaurant waste, household <br />organic waste, food produce, agriculture, wood, yard and garden waste and sewage <br />sludge. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski inquired which of those wastes would be allowed to be stored <br />outside. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Hanahan replied it would be yard waste (wood, brush and leaves). <br /> <br />Mr. Deemer inquired if they would accept green grass, freshly mowed, to which Mr. <br />Hanahan replied yes. <br /> <br />Ms. Dahlgren inquired if anything is going on at the site now to which Mr. Otter replied <br />they are just doing surface discing. <br /> <br />Ms. Dahlgren inquired if the facility would be taking the brush and leaves from the Anoka <br />County Bunker Hills site to which Mr. Otter replied no, .it would be wherever they could <br />market it. <br /> <br />Ms. Dahlgren inquired about the types of trucks that will be used to haul the material. <br /> <br />Mr. Otter stated it would be packer route (garbage) trucks and possibly front-end loader <br />trucks. <br /> <br />Ms. Dahlgren commented that regular garbage trucks "ooze" on the streets now and these <br />materials will be wet so what will prevent them from "oozing". <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Otter stated that the trucks will have a tailgate seal so they won't leak. He added that <br />he would like a citizen to tour one of the IPS facilities. <br /> <br />Mr. Bob Hutchison inquired if this facility would only service Waste Management to which <br />Mr. Otter replied no. <br /> <br />Mr. Hanahan stated that Waste Management will be their primary customer but that they <br />expect to have other customers as well. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired how big the proposed facility will be. <br /> <br />Mr. Hanahan stated it would contain 10 bays and would be approximately 100' wide by <br />350' long. <br /> <br />Ms. Lemke inquired about expansion plans. <br /> <br /> .5 <br /> <br /> <br />
