SECTION 3. SUMMARY The following official summary of Ordinance #03-01 has been approved by the City Council of the City of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance. It is the intent and effect of Ordinance #03-01 to amend Ramsey City Code Chapter 9 (Zoning and Subdivision of Land) to amend the language prohibiting the construction of detached accessory buildings nearer the front property line than the principal structure so that it only applies to lots less than 2 acres in size. The 16-foot height restriction on accessory buildings will be applicable to properties less than 2.5 acres in size versus properties located inside the Metropolitan Urban Service Area. The 22-foot height restriction on accessory buildings will be applicable to properties 2.5 acres and greater in size, versus just properties located outside the Metropolitan Urban Service Area. A variance may be obtained to exceed the established height restrictions on accessory buildings. Criteria for considering variances to the height restriction is included in the text. SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE The effective date of this ordinance is thirty (30) days after its passage and publication, subject to City Charter Section 5.07.
