CASE # q <br />RECEIVE INFORMATION ON RESIGNATION OF PLANNING <br />COMMISSIONER AND CONSIDER SUZANNE DVORAWS APPLICATION TO <br />FILL THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION VACANCY <br />Kim Moore - Sykes, Assistant City Administrator <br />Background: <br />On May 2, 2001, Staff received information from Joe Wivoda that he is resigning from <br />the Planning and Zoning Commission. This decision is the result of his decision to <br />accept a new job in his hometown, Hibbing, Minnesota. <br />Observation: <br />The Council just recently completed the process to fill another vacancy on the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission. On April 24 prior to the City Council meeting scheduled for <br />that evening, Council interviewed two interested applicants and selected Ms. Kathleen <br />Sweet to fill that vacancy. Since the City Council had commented on the impressive <br />qualifications of both of the candidates, Ms. Sweet and Ms. Suzanne Dvorak, who had <br />previously submitted letters of interest, Staff is resubmitting Ms. Suzanne Dvorak's name <br />for consideration. <br />Committee Action: <br />Recommend to the City Council , to appoint Ms. Suzanne Dvorak to the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission. <br />Council Action: <br />Accept the Personnel Committee's recommendation to appoint Ms. Suzanne Dvorak to <br />the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />' Reviewed by: Copies also Distributed to: <br />City Administrator <br />1 PC: 05/08/2001 <br />Shared \agenda council & commission \personnel\2001 \may <br />-133- <br />
