5. COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br />5.01: Consider Recommending City Council Approving Plans and Specifications and <br />Authorizing Advertisement for Bids for High Point Street Reconstructions, <br />Improvement Project #25-05 <br />Assistant City Engineer Feriancek presented the staff report and recommendation to recommend <br />City Council approval of plans and specifications and authorizing advertisement for bids for High <br />Point Street Reconstructions, Improvement Project #25-05. <br />Councilmember Specht recognized the plan would include a smaller cul-de-sac. He asked and <br />received confirmation that the City would retain ownership of the remaining right-of-way. He <br />noted that could be more complicated when property owners sell to a new person. <br />Chairperson Olson commented that information is included in the paperwork when selling a home. <br />Motion by Councilmember Riley, seconded by Councilmember Specht, to recommend City <br />Council approval of plans and specifications and authorizing advertisement for bids for High Point <br />Street Reconstructions, Improvement Project #25-05. <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Riley commented that he appreciates they are working ahead <br />and will be able to start and complete projects earlier than they had in the past. He recognized the <br />work of staff to get them on this schedule. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Olson, Councilmembers Riley and Specht. Voting No: <br />None. <br />5.02: Consider Recommending City Council Approving Plans and Specifications and <br />Authorizing Advertisement for Bids for Sorteberg's Street Reconstructions, <br />Improvement Project #25-06 <br />Assistant City Engineer Feriancek presented the staff report and recommendation for City Council <br />approval of plans and specifications and authorizing advertisement for bids for Sorteberg's Street <br />Reconstructions, Improvement Project #25-06. <br />Councilmember Specht asked if there is a calendar that shows the open house dates. <br />Assistant City Engineer Feriancek replied that he does not have those on a calendar but could make <br />the members of the Committee aware of the meeting dates should they wish to attend. <br />City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby cautioned against issues of a quorum of Council <br />attending an open house meeting without proper posted notice.
