Motion by Councilmember Riley, seconded by Councilmember Specht, to recommend City <br />Council approval of plans and specifications and authorizing advertisement for bids for <br />Sorteberg's Street Reconstructions, Improvement Project #25-06. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Olson, Councilmembers Riley and Specht. Voting No: <br />None. <br />5.03: Consider Recommending City Council Order Requests for Proposals for 2026 Capital <br />Improvement Program Projects Topographic Surveys, Geotechnical Services and <br />Utility Testing <br />Assistant City Engineer Feriancek presented the staff report and recommendation for City Council <br />to order Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for 2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects <br />topographic surveys, geotechnical services, and utility testing. <br />Councilmember Riley asked if these are judged to be the worst roads that best fit together, outside <br />of the road that was included to take advantage of TIF funds. <br />Assistant City Engineer Feriancek agreed that these are the roads requiring overlays and <br />reconstructions that best fit the CIP schedule and can utilize available funding. He stated that <br />staff's goal for overlays is to complete an overlay before it is no longer a feasible option and a <br />more costly reconstruction is required. <br />Councilmember Specht recognized that this plan also helps to address road maintenance before it <br />creates a pile-up of roads that need reconstruction. <br />Motion by Councilmember Riley, seconded by Councilmember Specht, to recommend City <br />Council order Requests for Proposals for 2026 Capital Improvement Program projects topographic <br />surveys, geotechnical services, and utility testing. <br />Motion carried. COMMITTEE / STAFF INPUT <br />6.01: Receive Updates on Improvement Projects, Studies, and Items of Interest <br />City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby provided an update on current and proposed City, <br />County, and MnDOT improvement projects and studies, and on other items of interest to the <br />Committee. <br />Councilmember Riley stated that he has received questions about the "City of Ramsey" name on <br />the side of the Sunfish Lake Boulevard bridge and asked if the plans could be shared publicly. <br />Public Works Committee / February 18, 2025 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />
