<br />Imp1ementat~0~ Plan for Trunk Highway 10 Corridor Study <br /> <br />Since the Eighway 10 Corr idor Study was a Mul ti-faceted study, <br />its implementation should be facilitated by those Commissions <br />within the City of Ramsey which deal specifically with certain <br />facets of the study. Because of the number of Commissions and <br />sub-committees which will be involved in laying the groundwork <br />for the implementation of the Highway 10 study, the plan should <br />be coordinated by one person. <br /> <br />I therefore recommend that Ann ~orris be designated as the <br />overall Coordinator for this plan and that the following <br />Commissions and/or sub-committees be given the task of <br />researching and making final recommendations for the <br />implementation of the following areas: <br /> <br />1. Economic Development Commission should deal with the following <br />-areas of the Highway 10 Implementation plan: <br /> <br />a. Establish a high profile identity program <br /> <br />1. Name Industrial and Commercial districts <br />2. Establish graphic and signing image <br />3. Develope promotional programs <br /> <br />b. Prepare inventory and directory of existing businesses <br /> <br />c. Prepare list of existing land ownership <br /> <br />d. Adopt a preliminary !ndustrialarea development plan <br /> <br />1. Consolidate and coordinate Industrial Park <br />2. Improve circulation system with major central <br />entrance <br />3. Coordinate a connection with Thurston overpass <br />4. Segmented.Industrial Development districts <br />5. Overall design control <br /> <br />e. Develope a market position and strategy <br /> <br />f. Implement targeted marketing strategy by identifying and <br />contacting market segments <br /> <br />1. Existing Ramsey industries <br />2. Ramsey residents <br />3. Industries in immediately surrounding area <br />4. Industries attracted to outlying areas <br />5. Real Estate Industrial brokers <br />6. Keeping in mind the above items, the EDe should also consider <br />Ramsey's need to disassociate itself with abutting communities by <br />adopting an individualistic theme which can be incorporated into <br />the communi ties marketing and promotional materials.
