The railroads tracks should be left where they are or moved <br />further north. Stated that he hasn't heard any offers from Burlington <br />Northern. <br /> <br />Councilnanber Cox stated that these are just preliminary discussions. <br /> <br />Ragna Pearson - 8846 Hwy. #10 - Stated she is opposed to the relocation of <br />the tracks as they would cross through her crop landi she is fed up with <br />people always making profX>sals for her land; it is supposed to be private <br />property. Stated the tracks have been in their present location for 100 <br />years and in the 40 years she has been here, she has had no problems with <br />the railroad. <br /> <br />John ottenstroer - 5230 163rd Lane, Andover - Stated he is Dan McGinnis' <br />son-in-law and if there is going to discussion of relocating the railroad <br />tracks, there should be a ntmlber of profX>sals reviewed to determine which <br />would have the least ~ct on current landowners. The current proposal <br />would affect Brooks Market, other buildings in the area and take the <br />McGinnis hanestead. <br /> <br />Hike Powers - 8050 147th Avenue N.H. - Stated that he built on his property <br />last fall and now there is discussion of relocating the tracks right <br />through his building and Peter Chal ich I s building; the real ignment shoul d <br />be 200 feet further north in order to miss all buildings. <br /> <br />Dan Castonguay - Stated that he is Gilbert Menkveld I s real estate agent and <br />the relocation would split one of his 4.5 acre parcels in half. The <br />discussion of the relocation has already caused a potential sale of the <br />pro];.erty to fail. <br /> <br />Ragna Pearson - Inquired how much of an easement would be required to <br />relocate the tracks and what would happen to the existing railroad bed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox replied that there has been no discussion with Burlington <br />Northern regarding hON they woulc be handling the relocation. There are <br />some p;.rcels that would not benefit at all but others would gain from the <br />improved layout of that area, taking into consideration it will probably be <br />zoned commercial and industrial someday.
