Mpetint~: Mr. Hartley noted that Council's first meeting in November falls on Election Day. Motion by Councilmember Bawden and seconded b)' Councilmember DeLuca to reschedule the November regular City Council meetings from November 8, 1988 and l~ovember 22, 1988 to November 15, 1988 and November 29, 1988. Motion carried. Voting Yes: . Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, DeLuc~, Pearson and Bawden. Voting No: None. C2sP-~6: St2tu~ Of' PTO'DOSea ChaTtp- Amendment: Mr. Hartley stated that the Charter Commission met on October 20, 1988, suggested amendments to the proposed Charter amendment and requested that City Council unanimously adopt tberevised proposed Charter amendment in order to forego the cost of a special election. Prior to Council ad option of the charter amendment, the petition circulating committee must agree t 0 the modifications to the amendDent proposed by the Charter Commission. If the committee agrees to the l:lodifications, Council may introduce the orciinance at this time andaciopt it at the meeting scheduled for November 15. The charter would then be amended provicied over a period of 60 days a petition is not received from at least 2% of the registered voters opposing the charter amendment. If there is opposition to the charter amendment, it must go to a vote of the public. Richard Cich - 6440 170th Avenue K.W. - Stated that he is present representing the petition circulating cocmittee and they are agreeable to the modifications to the proposed Charter amendment resulting from the October 20 meeting of the Charter Commission.
