Inc.: <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that Altron is requesting site plan approval for their <br />proposed expansion. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to approve <br />Altron, Inc.'s request for site plan review. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No; None. <br /> <br />Case '3: Site Improvements For Altron Improvement P~oject '88-20: <br /> <br />~ <br />:~ <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that the site improvements for the Altron expansion are <br />proposed to be financed through tax increment financing. Mr. Hartley <br />stated that Altron has not signed the preliminary development agreement nor <br />deposited funds with the City to pay for preparation of plans for the site <br />improvements. Mr. Hartley stated that the City's participation in the <br />project will be suspended until Altron provides funds to pay for <br />engineering costs. <br /> <br />Case #4: Relocation Of Burlin~ton Northern Railroad Tracks: <br /> <br />Mr. <br />19s <br />of <br /> <br />Hartley stated that he has received <br />1988 meeting with affected property <br />relocating the Burlington <br /> <br />no further comments, since the May <br />owners, regarding the possibility <br />Northern Railroad tracks. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann stated that he feels the costs involved in relocating the <br />tracks makes the project prohibitive. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox was of the opinion that the cost to relocate the tracks <br />is minor compared to the safety and economic benefits that would be gained; <br />that the corridor should at least be established in the event the project <br />becomes a reality in the future. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pearson stated that he feels the costs and the high water <br />table in the proposed relocation area make the project unfeasible. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca stated that the corridor should be established; even <br />if the City has to incur the cost of right-of-way, the project may be in <br />the best interest of the City; there would have to be outside funding <br />involved in the project. <br /> <br />.! <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Cox directing <br />City Council/July 12, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 5 of 12 <br /> <br />'-/0 <br />
