Jack Ippel <br />Mr. Ken Wagner <br />Mr. Darryl Fults <br />Mr. Torn Kurak <br />Mr. Bernie Vevea <br />Mr. Steve Gorecki <br /> <br />Also Present: Community DeveloftIlent Director Anne Norris <br />Members Absent: Mr. Fob Muller <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg called the regular Economic Development Commission <br />meeting to order at 7:40 a.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUl' <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #6: ~arance ~ ~resentative Ernie Larsen: <br /> <br />Per Chairman Greenberg's request, Representative Larsen was present to <br />discuss commercial/industrial property taxes in l<".mnesota. <br /> <br />}{1r. Larsen noted receiving a copy of Governor Perpich's 1988 property tax <br />reform which proposes a reduction in corrunercial/industrial property taxes. <br />l>1.r. Larsen provided the Commission with a copy of the page in that reform <br />that indicates Ramsey's commercial/industrial property taxes would decrease <br />by 9-10%. The proposal would cost the State about $200,000 for a two-year <br />period and the specifics on hCM those funds would be made up is to be made <br />known on February 11. The House of Representatives' proposal for tax <br />reform should be announced within the next ten days. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg noted that the Commission will be formulating a <br />resolution regarding commercia/industrial property taxes. <br /> <br />}lJI.
