<br />Council also requested that staff provide information regarding the City's <br />insurance coverage and the types of uses of city property that should <br />require the user to provide additional insurance. <br /> <br />Case #9: Consider Resolution SUDnortinc Corona: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />adopt Resolution #88~6 supporting Corona and their proposed legislation to <br />have local units of government indemnified from any liability incurred as a <br />result of land use or subdivision regulations imposed by other governmental <br />agencies. <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Hartley stated that recogn~z~ng that the City is <br />in the process of negotiating with Metro Council to amend the comprehensive <br />plan for additional sewer capacity and the position the Corona group stands <br />for, now is not the best time for Ramsey to be a part of the Corona group. <br />Councilmember Pearson stated that the consensus at the last Corona meeting <br />was that the group wants to cooperate with and not work against Metro <br />Council. Mr. Hartley stated that Ramsey is exceeding density standards set <br />by Metro Council and they are willing to not interpret their policy <br />verbatim in order to recognize Ramsey as meeting the standards; Metro <br />Council could interpret the policy literally and no Federal loans would be <br />issued for any development taking place in Ramsey. Councilmember Cox <br />stated that the city should not be liable for limiting property <br />marketability because of Metro Council policies. Mr. Hartley replied that <br />Ramsey's action to develop beyond legally established development standards <br />may result in the city having to deny development by later developers and <br />thereby taking away development rights. Councilmember DeLuca stated that <br />supporting Corona's proposed legislation and not necessarily Corona would <br />be taking action to have local units indemnified from regulations imposed <br />by other agencies. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich noted that the resolution contained in the agenda is a copy of <br />Ham Lake's 'and not that proposed for Ramsey's adoption; requested staff be <br />given time to draft a resolution to support legislation proposed by Coronas <br />copy of which would be attached to the resolution. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to rescind <br />the motion to adopt Resolution #88-6 supporting Corona and it's proposed <br />legislation. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
