Other Conunissioners noted that the clarification of land write-downs provided on March 1 carried out the direction made in a motion at the regular meeting on February 10. Olaionan Greenberg inquired about guidelines for land write-downs. Ms. Norris replied that land write- downs are fairly comrron and the only word of caution from the bond cousel was that land write-down amounts do not exceed the current market value of a prot=erty. Ms. N:>rris noted that City Council has authorized drafting a preliminary agreement for the apartment project. Motion carried. Upon request, Ms. N:>rris provided Commissioner Hardin with explanations of two issues before City Council, <DRCNA. and charitable gambling licenses. ChaiDman Greenberg noted that Council minutes indicate there areMSA funds available and suggested that an MSA road through Ramsey Industrial Park to tie into Anoka' s McKinley Street be pursued. Ms. Norris stated that the City Council Road and Bridge Committee reviews uses for MSA funds. The City of Anoka Planning Commission has decided not to extend McKinley Street west at this time. Ramsey would have to approach Anoka City Council to pursue the extension of McKinley Street. Conunissioner Ippel stated that it is appropriate to follow up the sewer and water investment in that industrial park with roads. The Conunission directed lo1s. l'brris to invite City Engineer Raatikka and the City Council Road and Bridge Committee to the next regular Economic Development Commission meeting. Commissioner Bardin requested being provided with a copy of the Road and Bridge Committee's recommendation for use of 11& funds. A lengthy discussion ensued regarding the pros and cons of Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc.ls proposal for development of a ski hill at the landt ill.
