Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Y~YOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />a) Senator Greg Dahl's planned visit with Ramsey City Council - <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that Senator Greg Dahl is requesting an audience with the <br />Ramsey City Council at 9:00 p.m. at their regular meeting scheduled for <br />January 26, 1988. <br /> <br />b) Anoka Hennepin School District 1/11 request to meet with City Council - <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that Superintendent Lewis Finch is requesting a meeting <br />to discuss concerns raised by the Ramsey City Council. <br /> <br />Council scheduled a special meeting for Monday, January 19 at 7:30 p.m. to <br />neet with representatives of Anoka Hennepin Scbool District ~11. <br /> <br />c) Letter from Anoka County regarding renewal of licenses for generators <br />of hazardous waste - <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted receipt of a letter from Anoka County regarding <br />applications for renewal of hazardous waste generators licenses which <br />includes Altron, Anoka Regional Sanitary Landfill, Mike and Waynes Auto <br />Detail and Waltek in Ramsey. Mr. Hartley inquired if Council had any <br />comments regarding those applications. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that he is pleased to have these businesses <br />operating in Ramsey and that Waltek is taking an active role in alleviating <br />pollution by utilizing methane gas from the landfill to produce <br />electricity. <br /> <br />d) Resolution by County Commissioner Haas relating to the landfill siting <br />process <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that County Commissioner Haas is proposing that the <br />Anoka County Board cease work on the environmental impact statement for <br />Sites P, D and Q until the liability question relating to the drilling of <br />deep wells that will be necessary at these sites is resolved. <br /> <br />e) Request from Association of Municipalities for a designated contact <br />person in Ramsey for legislative issues - <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that the Association of Municipalities is requesting <br />that a person in Ramsey be designated as a legislative contact person in <br />order to strengthen the Association's lobbyirg effort. <br />City Council/December 22, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 11 of 15 <br /> <br />5\ <br />
