<br />PROPOSED REVISIONS <br /> <br />CRAPTER 110.07 HORSES <br /> <br />110.071 HORSE DEFINED <br /> <br />As used in this chapter. horse shall mean any stallion. mare. gelding. <br />foal. pony. donkey. ass. burro. mule or animal of horse kind. <br /> <br />110.072 ACREAG~ REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />1. The following chart prescribes the number of horses that can be <br />maintained on lot sizes as shown: <br /> <br />Maximum Number of Horses <br /> <br />Acreage Minimum <br /> <br />1 or 2 <br />3 or4 <br />5 and more <br /> <br />2.5 <br />2.6 <br />5 acres and larger <br />of which at least <br />2..5 a ere 8 con s i s t s <br />of an enclosed area <br />available for use in <br />which horses are able <br />to roam <br /> <br />2. Said horse(s) shall be provided adequate shelter. <br /> <br />3. Fences for pens. corrals or similar enclosures must be of <br />sufficient height and strength to retain such animals. Extra <br />care must be taken to insure that stallions are properly <br />enclosed. <br /> <br />110.073 RODENT AND INSECT CONTROL <br /> <br />1. Manure shall be handled or treated in such a manner as not to <br />create a public nuisance which shall mean at a minimum that manure <br />will be properly disposed of weekly when the number of horses on <br />anyone parcel exceeds one berse pe= 1/2 acre of enclosed roacing <br />area. <br /> <br />2. Corrals, pens, stables or similar enclosures shall be maintained <br />in a manner to minimize fly breeding. <br /> <br />3. No person shall lea~e accumulations of manure on any street, <br />sidewalk or alley, nor upon any area or lot in any portion of the <br />city. <br /> <br />110.074 CARE AND Y~INTENANCE OF RORSES <br /> <br />1. No horses shall be treated cruelly or inhumanely by any person or <br />in violation of Minnesota Statutes 346.20 - 345.26 preventing <br />cruelty to animals. <br /> <br />2 .
