Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case :#1: Discuss Sprinkler System For LeTourneau's Super Valu: <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated tbat after considerable researchJ it has been <br />determined that the City can legally grant a variance to sprinkler system <br />requirements but in doing so, the City accepts a substantial amount of <br />liability; Building Official Erickson's proposal for a sprinkler system at <br />LeTourrteaus Super Valu. connected to an on-site well with installation of a <br />pressure tank within a 3 year period is a reasonable compromise. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann stated that the City has a letter from Mr. LeTourneau stating <br />he is agreeable to Mr. Erickson's proposal for a sprinkler system at the <br />Super Valu. <br /> <br />Case M: Ken Miller Well Problem: <br /> <br />Mr. Rartley noted the agenda contains a chronology of events regard ing Mr. <br />Ken Miller's well. Hr. Rartley stated that Mr. Ken Miller has a well that <br />is currently not working and the City has a water main in close prc"imity <br />to Mr. Miller's property that can serve him 'Idth water. Recognizing H.at <br />Mr. Miller currently lives in a commercial! industrial area and that tbE: <br />next use of tbe property will most likely be commercial/industrial rather <br />tban residential, it has been suggested that Mr. Miller enter into an <br />agreement with tbe City tbat tbe property would pay for the connection <br />cbarge for sewer and water (approximately $7150/acre at today's rates) <br />tbat passe~ by tbat property at tbe time tbe property is transferred or <br />sold. '\o.Then tbe connection cbarge is paid, it ",ill be an amount <br />commensurate ~itb rates at tbat time.
