CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br /> <br />Topic Report: Administrative Hearing Information Pertaining to Code <br /> Enforcement <br /> <br />By: Chris Anderson, Community Development Assistant <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Staffis researching Administrative Hearings programs that other cities have implemented. There <br />appears to be a number of advantages to this type of system compared to the criminal justice <br />system. The Administrative Hearing process allows municipalities to conduct local, informal <br />hearings to resolve code violations. This type ofprogram may help expedite abatement of code <br />violations that occur in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Attachments: Please see the attached memo dated September 17, 2002; which highlights the <br />benefits of an Administrative Hearing program as well as the procedures used in both the City of <br />Blaine and Coon Rapids. <br /> <br />Action Statement: Request City Council to direct staff to write ordinance(s) to <br />iml~lernent an Administrative Hearing program for the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />CCWS: 1.21.03 <br /> <br /> <br />
