Clerk Treasurer Walker informed those present that <br />Mr. Odegaard requested a public hearing on the matter of a kennel to be held on <br />September 7th before the Planning and Zoning Commission for a conditional use permit <br />for a kennel license. . <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich explained to Mr. Reynolds who was present the procedure of the public <br />hearing on kennel application. ~ <br /> <br />Mrs. Mel James reported on the Bicentennial happenings. She received a letter from <br />Lt Governor Perpich, subject of a time -capsule for each state and that each <br />Bicentennial Committee in the State of Minnesota was to forward recommendations as <br />to items to be placed in the capsule. The completed History of Ramsey in book <br />form and copies were distributed to the Council members. <br /> <br />. <br />Clerk-Walker to write letters thanking the individuals and organization that parti- <br />cipat~d in the project. Mayor Cox thanked Mrs. James for her hard and dedicated <br />work on the history. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson, seconded by Councilman Reimann to present Mrs. <br />James with a suitable plaque to commend her work on the History of the City of <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />Carried 4 to 0 <br /> <br />A price for the History Book was discussed. Motion by Councilman Gorh~m, seconded <br />by Councilman Reimann to set the price for the History Book at $2.00 each, which <br />includes the State Sales Tax. <br /> <br />Ca rri ed 4 to 0 <br /> <br />Application for dog catcher. No action. Deferred until a later date. <br /> <br />Don Greenberg, variance request to convey by metes and bounds. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson, seconded by Councilman Reimann that a variance be <br />granted to Don Greenberg and Gateway North Industrial Park of Section 12 of the <br />City Ordinance 75-5 permitting the following de~cribed property to be conveyed by <br />metes and bounds.~ (the property description is on file at City Hall). with a <br />park fee of $100.00. And the City of Ramsey will take title to the property <br />but does not accept the roadway as it i sn I t at the present time up to Ci ty standards <br />as required by the City.s subdivision ordinances. Gateway North Industrial Park <br />and the affected property owners will bring the roadway up to City standards upon <br />completion of the Industrial Boulevard or fiVe years whichever is the sooner. <br />Although the roadway is not up to standards the City will plow the snow and grade <br />the roadway only; any maintenance or repair will be paid for by the Gateway North <br />Industrial Park and affected property owners and this motion as written and passed <br />will be the subject of a contract between Gateway North Industrial Park and the <br />Ci ty of Ramsey. <br /> <br />f - <br /> <br />Carri ed 4 to 0 <br /> <br />Herbert Johnston, variance to build a house of 960 square feet without an <br />attached garage. The Johnston's stated that they would build a garage as soon <br />as they can afford it. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Cox, seconded by Councilman Mickelson to grant Herbert'Johnston <br />a variance to build a house of 960 square feet without an attached garage. <br />Ca rri ed 4 to 0 <br /> <br />League of -Municipalities dues. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann, seconded by Councilman Gorham to renew our membership <br />in the Minnesota League of Municipalities for the year 1977 by paying the dues <br />requirement of $1.267.00 <br /> <br />Carried 4 to 0 <br />
