~

Mrs. Schneider: If people thought it was important enough, they would have
come.

Mr. Walker: Does the softball refl ect on my not being there. I
,~,o, '
",
Mrs. Schneider: Reported that she had discussed problems with Mr. Walker
and never receivedahy satisfaction after discussing them with him.

r"'~.

Mayor Cox interrupted the discussion between Mr. Walker and Mrs. Schneider
so that the meeting cOUl'a'Irove on.

Councilwoman Oliphant: Regarding this, it is only Park meetings? So he does
not faithfully attend, from what you hear, the Park meetings.

Mayor Cox: Is it your intent, Mrs. Oliphant, to cross examine the Personnel
,Commi ttee? Are you trying to build a case? You will have to judge for
and then you will be prepared to answer this yourself.

Councilwoman Oliphant: This is a tremendously serious matter when statements
are made about the Administrator and whether he keeps 'his job or not. It
could mean any meetings. The report is saying then that he .missed 2 or 3
Park Board meetings.

I

I

.

I

Mayor Cox said no pOints were being made at this time or any direct points
about anybody, only points as a Personnel Committee that they are bringing
out in a gracious manner so as not to condemn or criticize and I don 't want
any part of trying to' cut. someones head off.

are not
gq . over

Mayor Cox asked Mrs.Oliphantifshe tho'ughtwe\sh6tildhave

Councilwoman Oliphant: I am not trying to nail anybody, they did bring out
these items. I think this is a very serious matter and want qualification
on them and want answers for clarification so that I can understand. what they..
are really saying.

Councilman Gorham: I don't object to her questions. No.
as important as No. 3 and 4, I hope you will leave enough
3 and 4.

Councilwoman Oliphant: You felt it was important enough to be brought up
after February 23.

Mayor Cox: This is a public meeting discussion at this point, not a hearing.

Councilman Mickelson: No questions.

Mayor Cox said he would like to ask about the building committee mailout
regard to the referendum.

.

!

Mr. Walker said he did not feel it was' his decision.

Councilman Gorham said it was an example of not following
tasks. There was no mail out on the referendum.

..

Mr. Walker said there was a mail out in the Anoka Shopper. There was a conflict
in regard to mailing it out. There was a possiblity of a press breakdown and
I didn't want to take a chance on having it go out after the election. The
Building Committee and myself discussed putting it in the Anoka Shoppe~. I
talked to Jack Boarman and showed him what we decided. We decided to hand
carry it because it was too late for the election to mail it out.

Councilman Gorham said the reason for mentioning this was that Irost. of the Council
was at the meeting with the Building Committee and he was under the impression
that there was going to be a mail out. The way he looked at it is that he could
have taken it someplace else to have it mailed out.

Mr. Walker: I made a decision to get it out the best I could.

Councilman Reimann: I called and he said, we are going to go house to house
and cover the area and as much areas as we can and we don't have enough fl yers
to mail out anyway. This was the phone conversation. Ho~ could they go house
to house if there weren't enough flyers to go around?
