The asterick denotes those positions which were by design set below the Metro Mean because these positions were so far below the Metro Mean when the City reorganized its pay plan. The double asterick indicates where the City lowered the position below the Metro Mean (average). The City should start correcting these situations at least with the Chief of Police, Public Works Superintenden% and Light Equipment Operator. Personnel Committee Action - Your action will be to review the contents of pages 1 and 2 of enclosure (1) and by motion approve/disapprove the proposed adjustments and cost of living percentages and the proposed salaries. The following motion is hereby submitted for your consider~ ation: Motion by and seconded by to make the follow- ing recommendation to the Ramsey City Council for adoption: a) Salary ranges as attached in enclosure (1) to Personnel Committee minutes dated September 7, 1983. b) Proposed salary recommendation as attached in enclosure (2) to Personnel Committee minutes dated September 7, 1983. Motion carried. Voting yes Voting no b) Sick Leave ~ The City Ordinance~currently provides for 100 days of sick leave with no incentive provision to not use it. Accordingly, the normal policy in the Metro area has. been to establish, an incentive to not use sick leave as it costs money when employees use it, Please refer to paragraph. 1 of enclosure (2) which, contains a recommend-. ation which would create an incentive that would be in line with~ the Metro area.
