1 center must also be equipped with a means to immediately discontinue <br />2 the display if it malfunctions, and the sign owner must immediately stop <br />3 the dynamic display when notified by the city that it is not complying with <br />4 the standards of this section. <br />5 (13)Temporary signs. <br />6 a. A sign is considered temporary if it is not intended to remain on the property per- <br />7 manently and has not received a permanent sign permit and/or is not intended to <br />8 be constructed per the state building code. <br />9 b. Duration. Temporary signs shall be permitted for up to six weeks 45 consecutive <br />10 aays aru up to 90 toial days per year per parcel, or per business on multitenant <br />11 business parcels. The six -week limit may be extended up to four weeks if there <br />12 have been no sign violations in thc past ycar by thc entity who erccts thc sign. <br />13 i. Temporary Highway 10 construction provision (city-wide). The timeframes <br />14 described above shall be permitted up to 12 weeks and may be extended <br />15 in eight -week periods if there have been no sign violations in the past <br />16 year by the entity who erects the sign and if the sign is in good repair. <br />17 This temporary provision expires on December 31, 2025. <br />18 c. Location. Temporary signs must be located fully on private property on which the <br />19 business Is !maweu, with the permission of the property owner. The city will re- <br />20 move any signs in the public right-of-way, or erected without permission from the <br />21 property owner. Off -premise temporary signs are only allowed in conjunction with <br />22 a special event permit <br />23 d. Number. All properties are limited to two temporary signs per parcel. In locations <br />24 where there are multiple businesses on one parcel (a multitenant facility), three <br />25 signs are permitted. <br />26 e. Size. Temporary signs shall be limited to 50 square feet in size. <br />27 f. Height. i-reestanding temporary signs shall not exceed l teet in height, unless <br />28 specifically regulated elsewhere in this section. <br />29 g. 'n a temporary <br />30 sign permit. The -tempo -racy -sign permit applic n shall specify the t-' es <br />31 and dates the temporary sign is to be erected, the size of the sign, thea ' n of <br />32 the sign, contact information, and other information deemed necessary by the <br />33 zoning ad m i n istratorte-dam thaw pit i-i-n-a p pl i- <br />34 cahle code. Thermit shall be clearly displayed on the tempo- <br />35 fary sign. The fee for the temporary sign permit shall be established by ordinance <br />36 as part of the rates and charges. The fee shall only be collected for the first per- <br />37 mit per parcel or per business in a multi tenant fa . The provisions of this divi- <br />38 sion apply te-all ign-s, and appropriate penalties for violations will be <br />39 assessed, as outlined herein. <br />40 i. Exemptions from temporaryrmit. Signs less than 15 8-qua-re-feet-in <br />41 sizc purl �" igns in residential districts (R-1, R and R 3) arc <br />42 exempt from temporary sign permitting requirements. <br />43 h. Maintenance. All temporary signs must be securely anchored and maintained in <br />44 good repair, including replacement or removal when weather damage is evident. <br />45 The zoning administrator, or his designee, shall have the authority to identify and <br />46 notify property owners and/or occupants of the parcel on which the temporary <br />47 sign has been determined to be in violation of this Code.
