The Building Committee recommended <br />that the Council accept the basic plans and cost of the building. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann, seconded by Councilman Gorham to accept the <br />recommendation of the Building Committee to accept the plans and cost <br />analysis. <br /> <br />Discussion - Councilperson Oliphant stated, "I do not like the site. II <br />Carried 5 to 0 <br /> <br />Councilman Gorham suggested having a booth at the Ramsey Fun Day to acquaint <br />the public with the progress towards a new municipal building. <br /> <br />Easement ne otiations for 153rd Street Construction Project East of Hi hwa 47. <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson, seconded by Council an Reimann that the <br />stated acquisition of easements for the 153rd Street Construction Project east <br />of Highway 47 are in the best interest of the public and for a public purpose <br />and the appropriate city officials are to start proceedings to acquire the <br />easements forthwith. <br /> <br />Carried 5 to 0 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Revenue Sharing Fund. No action at this time. .This item to be on the May <br />24th meeting agenda. <br /> <br />Board of Adjustment. Motion by Councilman Mickelson, seconded by Councilman <br />Gorham that the Clerk-Treasurer will be the secretary and that the City Council <br />will be designated as the Board of Adjustment. <br />Carried 5 to 0 <br /> <br />Fee for Board of Adjustment. Discussion on the plat took place.. <br />Motion by Councilman Gorham, seconded by Councilman Reimann to approve the <br />preliminary plat according to the recommendation of the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission and the City Engineer. Also, to blacktop the streets, upgrade <br />Geranium Street and to dedicate 7.2 acres as park land and that the access <br />to the park will be 33 feet wide and a resubdivision plan is to be submitted <br />prior to approval of the final plat also to accept a scenic easement of 100 <br />feet along the Rum River except for Lots 8 and 9 of Block 1, which will be <br />a scenic easement of 75 feet. <br /> <br />Carried 5 to 0 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Request for a variance for carport for Mr. John Schutz. A discussion was <br />held on the request. No action until Mr. Schutz brings in plans for the carport. <br /> <br />Anoka Landfill. A discussion was held on the Anoka Landfill. Mayor Cox <br />indicated that we should close down the landfill immediately based on possible <br />present contamination, debris blowing in the neighborhood, inadequate job <br />of monitoring by the County, the fact that it is a health hazard, that 85 <br />percent of the hazardous waste comes from the areas outside of Ramsey into an <br />unsewered area and what will be the end results of the landfill final develop~ent. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Gorham, seconded by Councilman Mickelson to have Engineer <br />Richard Sha prepare a resolution for Council action to the proper authorities <br />to close the landfill and that the resolution would contain the factors as <br />brought up by Mayor Cox. <br /> <br />Carried 5 to 0 <br /> <br />Personnel Committee Report. Councilman Gorham read Clerk-Treasurer Walker's <br />recommendation for permanent employment status for Arlen(:! Peddycoart with a <br />five percent raise starting May 18, 1976. <br /> <br />". <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann, seconded by Councilman~Gorham to grant Arlene <br />Peddycoart permanent employee status as of May 18, 1976, with a five percent <br />increase in salary. <br /> <br />Carried 5 to 0 <br />
