Carried 3 Ayes Gorham abstained Oliphant abstained 1975, as Committee by Mayor Gorham APPOINTMENT OF ACTING MAYOR q Motion by Oliphant that Councilman Gorham remain as Acting Mayor for the year 1976, seconded by Mickelson and carried.. Lr Ayes Gorham abstained DESIGNATION OF THE OFFICIAL NEdSPAPER FOR THE CITY Administrator Walker read a.letter from the Anoka County Union and Shopper requesting designation as official city newspaper.. Motion by Oliphant seconded by Gorham, to adopt the Anoka County Union and Shopper as the official city newspaper for the year 1976. Carried 5 Ayes Mayor Cox reported that Mro Perron had called and apologized for the erroneous agenda that had been printed last week and for some of the items of controversy that have appeared recently in the Union. He said Mr. Perron would like to meet to discuss some of the problem areas. Mayor Cox made comment that the Ubion has been very exceptional in printing of items for the City but there have been problems that he would like to see dismissed. May~r Cox requested that another Councilperson attend the meeting along with himself and he felt that Councilman Gorham should be chosen to attend because he is the Acting Mayor and his term of office is the longest. OFFICIAL DEPOSITORIES . Administrator Walker recommended using the Anoka State Bank as a depository for City investments ~nd the 1st National Bank for the City checking account. Motion by Oliphant to designate the Anoka State Bank as depository for City investments and the 1st National Bank for the City checking account for the year 1976, seconded by Reimann and carriedo 5 Ayes APPOINTI~ENT OF DEPUTY CLERK Administrator Walker ,recommended appointing Arlene Peddycoart as Deputy Clerk for the year 1976 authorizing her to sign for the Clerk in his absenceo Motion by Gorham seconded by Mickelson to appoint Arlene Peddycoart as Deputy Clerk.. Carried.. 5 Ayes CITY ENGINEER Administrator Walker recommended retention of Consulting Engineers Diversified for 1976 with the same contract except for a change in the effective date and authorization of work by signature of both the Mayor and the Clerk..
