Mr. Fricke said <br />the city would be ahead if they had it. Chairman Sorteberg said they will <br />get some of our men to come in and discuss it. Mr. Zimmerman said they had <br />nothing to work with in the shoreline zoning. Mr. Fricke said they should <br />adopt the ordinance that the County has. Mr. Zimmerman explained the three <br />cla.sses of zoning and how far you can set a building back from the water. <br />Mr. Fri cke said t hey were ment to supplement building codes. You can put a <br />tile field within ten feet of the lake but it polutes the lake. Chairman <br />Sorteberg suggested they take the shoreline zoning home and study it and <br />make a recommendation to the Council to rt=l-ss it. Mr. Zimmerman made a motion <br />to reconunend to the Council that they adopt the Shoreline Zoning Ordinance <br />#72-1 plus the amendments with reference to the code the County uses. <br />Mr. Gamec seconded the motion. Chairman Sorteberg asked for a vote on the <br />motion. Sotreberg, Fossum, Gamec, Pittman, Zimmennan voted yes. Klohs <br />abstained from voting. The motion was carried. <br /> <br />Chairman Sorteberg asked about a scenic easement. Mr. Zimmennan said <br />the county has diverted this off the shoreline zoning. They are more <br />restrictive than the city. Chairman Sorteberg said to wait and see what <br />the legislators decide. <br /> <br />Mr. Klohs said we should ask }X'ople to come up for rezoning so we <br />have basic information. Mr. Fossum suggested it be outlined on a sheet <br />and they could come down the line and see what should be done. He said the <br />Council should set the guide lines on it and Mr. Gonnan is going to present <br />it to the Council. Mr. Gamec said at a lot of the meetings they are <br />questioned on why they decided this and W)ndered if they were suggesting <br />they go out and ask the people and if they should go door to door ard see <br />what the people think. He wondered if they are going to follow the plan <br />and say no it is going to be in this area and force them to build in this <br />area. Mr. Fricke said he has looked into industrial in the metroix>litan <br />area and a big f actor is labor and freight supply and where they locate. <br />They do not come out here because there is no labor supply. Most of the <br />housing is professional people and he does not forsee anything until they <br />get sewage out here. The commission and Mr. Fricke discussed the comprehensive <br />plan and the tax bases in regard to industry. Mr. Pittman said he would <br />take the map d.:>wn to Mr. Sca.rborough and set up a meeting with him. <br /> <br />Mr. Foss\D1l made a. motion to a.djourn the meeting.
