Their sketch plan shows one area
on Hy. 47 commercial, one on Industry BlvQ. for industrial and the
rest would be residential. Mr. Carso~~r~ a review of this plat.
He said the people in the immediate area are agreeable to the plan-
ning done on this plat. 27 acres is for open recreation. Mr.
Gamec said he favored commercial because Ramsey does need tax base
and houses don't carry their way tax wise. Mr. Pittman said he
would like to see it stay industrial. When asked1 Mr. Carson said
he had 8 lots left to sell in Deerwood. He said ~5% of his lots
have been sold. He thinks the people in this area should let us
know what they want in this area. Mr. Carson doesn't feel that
what the Metropolitan Council wants or is trying to do should have
any influence on what we do. Mr. Bodle feels we should stay with
our comprehensive plan. Question: are we going to stick one
residential ,plat in the middle of an industrial and commercial
area? There are 98.4 acres in the plat. They would be agreeable,
(Mr. Carson) to going a little heavier on the commercial along
Industry Blvd. N.W. and Highway #47. The residential lots are
approximately 1 acre. The commercial and industrial are about, in sq.mi..1
3 to 5 for our City according to the MC in the'n$xt ten years: Mr..
Gamec moved we recommend to the Council that they hold a public-niir-
tng on 'tn1s plat. Motion carried.

..

LeRoy Steinke: \Was not here.

Craig Willie: Asked about a decision on rezoning from residential
to commercial on 15lst and Highway 47. Wants it for small free
standing businesses. They don't have any specific buyers as yet.
He also requested a decision on the request for rezoning on Highway
56. These lots are about 250 feet deep. They would be interested
in a women's clothing store, offices, and service business. The
Commission would like to know what specific types of business would
be going in there. Mr. Willie said people are not going to look
at a piece of property for commercial use unless it is zoned com-
mercial. He will come back with some redirection on this area.

Robert Stoll: Wants to put up a building for storage and a workshop,
at 17940 St. Francis Blvd. N.W.
