The concession stand and shelter at Central Park is b~ing replaced with a new shelter.
The bids for the new building included an alternate for roughing in bathrooms. The
Ramsey Lion's have fully funded the building including the add alternate for roughing in
the bathrooms. The City requested a quote for installing the underground piping and
finishing the bathrooms. Staff reviewed the quote and determined that installing the
underground piping to connect the building to the existing well and septic system at the
existing building can be done by city crews, saving approximately half ofthe cost. The
City Council authorized accepting the quote for finishing the bathrooms with City forces
installing the underground piping.

Installation of the bathrooms will yield significant savings on portable restroom expenses
and will allow the concession stand to sell cooked food instead of pre-packaged foods,
reducing the amount of waste generated.

The City Council has approved these projects and the work will be started this fall and
completed before school lets out in the spring.

Commission Action:
Commission action not required.

Reviewed by:

Public Works Director/Pnncipal City Engineer
Parks Supervisor

P&R: 11/09/06

2
