E2s ®
www.ae2s.com
Four angle iron supports will be installed and anchored to the precast wall on both sides of each masonry
wall. The contractor's price reflects both the material and labor necessary to complete this corrective work.
Proposal No. 038 — Water Wick Connection to Lower Level:
To ensure proper drainage of the water wick along the north end of the reclaim basin and clearwell tanks at
the 100-feet elevation level, a connection was made to the water wicks in the pipe gallery. This included
additional plumbing to route the water wick troughs down in elevation and through the cast in place walls
to connect with the water wick at elevation 86-feet and eventually route to the sump pit. Contractor price
reflects material and labor for this work.
Proposal No. 039 (FO No. 17) — RWL Route Modification:
Reroute of the rainwater leader around the electrical room ensures to not jeopardize the electrical
equipment. This entails running the 6-inch leader south around the electrical room and west through the
hallway just to the south of the garage and electrical rooms at the ceiling elevation height. Contractor price
reflects material and labor for this work.
Proposal No. 040 — Transformer Bollards:
Connexus Energy is requiring four concrete bollards surrounding the transformer pad to ensure protection
of the equipment. Contractor price reflects material and labor for this work.
Summary of General Construction Contingency Costs:
Within the Contractor's bid price, the Owner required the Contractor to include a $950,000.00 General
Construction Allowance. This was intended to limit the Contract changes due to change orders by applying
general construction changes to a set contingency allowance. The General Construction Allowance equates
to about 3% of the overall construction bid price. It is typical for projects of this magnitude to usually incur
an increase in the bid price of around 3% due to change orders, so it is expected that most of this allowance
will be used up by the conclusion of construction. Any unused allowance funds will be deducted from the
Final Payment of the project.
AE2S has summarized all known construction contingency expenses below, to help the City of Ramsey
better understand the current contingency status. With the approval of Construction Contingency Expense
No. 9, the total approved expenses will total $546,960.88 of the existing $950,000.00 General Construction
Allowance. As construction progresses, AE2S will continue to provide cost updates and coordination with
City staff.
Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc.
6901 East Fish Lake Road, Suite 184 • Water Tower Place Business Center • Maple Grove, MN 55369 • 763-463-5036
