. . . Upon being asked, Mr. Parent stated that the home will be within 1 foot of the scenic river easement. Chairman Zimmerman inquired if DNR makes periodic inspections of building occuring on river lots. Mr. Stine stated that periodic inspections are only made when there are particular problems; those situations involving a variance are subjected to final inspection to make sure the construction is within the terms of the variance. Mr. Stine also noted that damage to oak trees on the property during construction can promote the spread of oak wilt disease and he can provide the builder with proper methods of tree wound treatment to prevent that spread of disease. Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Holm to approve a request for a variance by the A.J. Parent Company with the addition of the following item to the agreement: #5) Upon receipt of building permit from City of Ramsey, a stairway may be constructed from top of river bank to bottom of bank. Further Discussion: Chairman Zimmerman noted that Item #1 of the agreement should be amended to not allow encroachment on the Rum River setback by more than 40 feet. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Shumway, LaDue, Terry, Holm and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Howell. COMMISSION INPUT Chairman Zimmerman requeted that the next regular Board of Adjustment agenda include appointing a Chairman and Vice-Chairman and that the City Attorney be present to swear in members. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Holm to adjourn the regular Board of Adjustment meeting. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Shumway, LaDue, Terry, Holm and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Howell.
