<br />CASE 13: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION REGARDING ACCESSORY STRUCTURE; <br />CASE OF HR. JEFF PEROWITZ <br />By: Anne Norris, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As you know, Section 170.15G of the City Code requires residential accessory <br />structures on parcels of less than 2.5 acres"... .shall be built with the same <br />type construction materials and shall have the same general design and exterior <br />facing finish as that of the principal structure located on the parcel....n. <br /> <br />Mr. Jeff Perowitz applied for a building permit to construct a 30'x40' <br />accessory structure at 15320 Zirconium Street N.W. Mr. Perowitz stated that <br />the structure would be used for a work/storage area and that the structure <br />would be a pole barn of wood frame and with metal siding. <br /> <br />The building permit was issued to Mr. Perowitz; the house is of wood frame <br />construction, as is the pole barn; has metal siding, so does the pole barn; and <br />the house is painted in beige and brown, as is the pole barn. The ordinance <br />can be and was interpreted so that Mr. Perowitz' request is consistent with the <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />Enclosed for your information are the following items: <br /> <br />a) Section 170.15G regarding accessory structures <br />b) Application by Mr. Jeff Perowitz <br /> <br />. Photographs of the pole barn will be available at the meeting. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The Board should discuss whether Mr. Perowitz' application meets the intent of <br />the ordinance. If Mr. Perowitz' accessory structure does not meet the intent <br />of the ordinance, the Board should discuss how the ordinance should be revised <br />to avoid this from happening again. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Board of Adjustment Action: <br /> <br />Action will be based on your discussion. <br /> <br />Review CheCklist: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Administrator <br />Attorney ~ <br />Eng ineer <br />Community Development Director ~ <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Public Works Superintendent <br />Building Official <br /> <br />....L <br />
