StructurerCaseOf Mr~ Jeff <br />Perowitz: <br /> <br />Mr. Perowitz stated that he applied for a building permit to construct a <br />30'x40' accessory structure of wood frame and metal siding; the building permit <br />was issued; if metal pole barns are not permitted, the permit should have been <br />denied before getting this far into construction. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that she is only using Mr. Perowitz' case to serve as an <br />example to be used in reaching some clarification of the ordinance intent for <br />, . . same type construction materials and same general design and exterior <br />facing finish as the principal structure. .' <br /> <br />In the discussion that followed it was determined that Mr. Perowitz' total <br />attached and accessory garage square footage is 1680; that exceeds the limit <br />for 1-1/2 acre parcels by 16'. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that Building Inspector Elvin Erickson interpreted the <br />ordinance to mean that as long as principal building and accessory structure <br />are built similarly (wood frame) and appearance was similar (beige), the <br />building permit could be issued. <br /> <br />There was also a discussion regarding the importance of requiring a certificate <br />of lot survey with every building permit application. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shumway and seconded by Commissioner Howell to grant <br />September 23, 1986 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />
