Mr. Johnson stated that there <br />are buildings in his neighborhood of similar size and material type. Mr. <br />Johnson stated that the ooilding would be used to store personal vehicles and <br />would eliminate safety hazards to neighborhood children. Mr. Johnson stated <br />that he has received no negative oomments fran his neighbors regarding his <br />ra;Iuest1 one neighbor was present tonight but had to leave; that neighbor has <br />no obj ections. Mr. Johnson stated that the building would be 200' fran the <br />neighbor's property. <br /> <br />Councilmanber Reimann noted that City Ordinance limits accessory building size <br />to 624 s:juare feet on parcels less than 2-1/2 acreS1 it's Mr. Johnson's problEm <br />if all his a;Iuipnent won't fit into an accessory building of that size. <br /> <br />Mr. Johnson i~uired it Councilmanber Reimann feels that it is better to have <br />unsafe items sitting in the open for children to get hurt on. Mr. Johnson <br />noted that a neighbor has a nllnber of junk cars on his property that nobody <br />does arwthing about. <br /> <br />Mayor Heibnan stated that the rules have been, are and will oontinue to be in <br />place1 on the other hand, nobody showed up to oontest Mr. Johnson's request. <br /> <br />Councilmanber Reimann stated that the ordinance was written to prevent <br />accessory buildings that look out of place in relation to property size1 the <br />ordinance was intended to make the City's job easier and Staff can inform <br />applicants that the City lives ~ and enforces the ordinance. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson stated that the size of ooilding they are requesting does not look <br />out of prop:>rtion on their property. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schlueter referred to ItEm 12 of the prop:>sed developnent <br />agreenent regarding the accessory building structure being compatible with the <br />existing structure. <br /> <br />Mr. Berg stated that he has questioned Council before on this p:>int and the <br />only answer he got fran Council was that oolor should be canpatible. <br /> <br />Council emended the pro{X>sed findings of fact as follows: <br /> <br />Change ItEm #4 to read as follows: ''!hat the subject property is less <br />than 2-1/2 acres in size.' <br /> <br />July 23, 1985 <br />Page 5 of 7 <br />
