<br />. <br /> <br />PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL <br />BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A Board of Adjustment was held Tuesday, January 24, 1984 at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding <br />Mr. Thomas Kurak's request to construct a second dwelling unit on a single <br />parcel of property. <br /> <br />Members Present: Councilmember Jean Schlueter, Chairperson <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Gary Reimann <br />Councilmember Sue Van Wagner <br />Councilmember Al Sorteberg <br /> <br />Also Present: City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />City Building Official Clayton Berg <br />Reporter Carolyn Thompson <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Chairperson Schlueter called the meeting to order at 7:48 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #1: Board Of Adjustment Variance Request; Case Of Mr. Tom Kurak: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Mayor Gamec to adopt the <br />findings of fact for Mr. Thomas Kurak's request to place a second <br />dwelling on a 60 acr~.pa~cel of land without frontage on a public street. <br />Jt2R.L. \fl/~~ &(- d-eu:! +()()15 tf~ <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yesq Chairperson Schlueter, Mayor Gamec, Council- <br />members Sorteberg, Reimann and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann inquired if Mr. Kurak was aware that he is responsible <br />for the private driveway which begins at County Road #57? <br /> <br />Mr. Kurak replied that he is aware of that fact. <br /> <br />Chairperson Schlueter noted that P & Z minutes indicate Mr. Kurak, in some <br />point in time, intends to update the road to blacktop for the purpose of <br />subdivision and development of the property. Councilmember Schlueter <br />inquired if Mr. Kurak was aware that a neighbor of his is requesting that <br />the road be upgraded to Class 5 gravel and be taken over by the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Kurak stated he had not planned on upgrading the road for at least 10 <br />years. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann suggested that it would be best if the road were <br />upgraded to Class 5 and taken over by the City; that Mr. Kurak would then <br />have 200' of .frontage on a public road. <br />
