CASE # ~g~ <br /> <br />AZURITE / BASALT STREET INDUSTRIAL REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT <br /> Brian E. Olson, Principal City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />This project would provide sewer, water and storm sewer to over 17 acres of commercial and <br />industrial property, identified as the Gateway North Industrial P ark property. T he project cost <br />estimate is $408,000. Of this project cost, $194,000 was estimated for street reconstruction and <br />$105,000 was estimated for sewer and water utility construction. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The City has begun negotiations to acquire an additional site along 141st Avenue NW. With <br />development plans pending, the City will need to authorize the additional street and utility work <br />along Azurite Street NW, 141st Avenue NW and Basalt Street NW. Attached is an illustration <br />that identifies the layouts of the streets. <br /> <br />It is our intent to hire Hakanson Anderson for design and surveying of the plat for this project. <br />The cost for this service due to the project expansion is approximately $61,000 and is included in <br />the $408,000 mentioned above. <br /> <br />The funding for this project would come from Tax Increment Financing District #2. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Recommend that the City Council authorize the hiring of Hakanson Anderson for surveying and <br />design services. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Director of Public Works <br /> <br />PW: 5/20/03 <br /> <br /> <br />
