To yourknm-Jledge. did anyone on the Planning Commission <br />formally discuss this rezoning action with a member of the Anoka Hennepin District 11 <br />School Board? <br /> <br />Sort: Not to my knowledge. <br /> <br />01: That concludes our fact presentation on the second part of our petition. In our <br />judgement it is clear that it is dangerous to health. safety and welfare to the <br />children of this community. It is also our judgement that there should have been <br />traffic studies conducted before a decision was finally made. It is further our <br />judgement that the school board should have been contacted and consulted regarding <br />the various problems that it has incurred during the past few years whereever large <br />commercial shopping centers have been located at or near a school. <br /> <br />Cox: Are you aware that many of our residents travel past the technical education <br />Center on Hwy lOt <br /> <br />01; I am aware. <br /> <br />Cox: Are you aware that there was a very serious accident there today? <br /> <br />01 : No. <br /> <br />Cox: Are you aware that there are very serilous accidents there everyday? <br /> <br />01: That is correct. I am aware that that is a very dangerous area imvhich to go to <br />school. <br /> <br />. Cox: Are you also aware that this council in the past requested to the School District <br />with meetings with the Minnesota Hwy. Eept. to provide that there be a service road in <br />front or in the rear of the Tech. Center for provision of our commercial development as <br />well as our residents in our community to have reasonable access to the highway? <br /> <br />01: I am not aware of that but.... <br /> <br />CANIT'HEAR <br /> <br />Cox: And are you aware of the cross over was taken out there so commercial development <br />has to comevout on the highway? <br /> <br />01: I am aware there is no access road. Yes. <br /> <br />Cox: Do you make a U-turn where it says "no U_turnll in order to come back? <br /> <br />01: Right. <br /> <br />Cox: Are you aware of that? <br /> <br />01 : I am not totally aware of that. I know they built a new road. <br /> <br />Cox: O:K. Are you also aware that by taking those actions that this council was never <br />at any time consulted prior to that by the school district? <br /> <br />01: No I am not aware of that... GAP..... I also think that in this particular situation <br />heee that the best thing to do would be to consult very carefull with the school district <br />.specificallY since the Elementary School was made from the basis. in my understanding, <br />from a comprehensive plan. <br /> <br />Cox: Who would? <br />
