<br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Wirz stated that he doesn't see anything in his records to justify such a <br />sharp increase. <br /> <br />Elinor Deemer - 5655 149th Lane - #R23-32-25-44-0014 - Stated that her home <br />is a new construction and she is not residing in the house yet. As of January <br />2 all that was on the one parcel was the house frame; The valuation states <br />that the parcel containing the house is valued at $30,400 and the other two <br />parcels are valued at $1400 and $1500. <br /> <br />Mr. Wirz stated that the value of the lot containing the house was increased to <br />$7,000 because of the structure on it; the house is being assessed at 50% <br />complete. <br /> <br />Ms. Deemer accepted Mr. Wirz's explanation. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Jan Hanson - R14-32-25-34-0011: <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg stated that he agrees with Mr. Wirz in that market <br />valuations must be computed on a price/square foot rate and not by purchase <br />prices. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that market values are down but the County is not <br />making adjustments accordingly. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Council consensus was to make no adjustment to Mr. Hanson's valuation. <br /> <br />Case #2: Willard Pohlman - R17-32-25-43-0025: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to reduce <br />Mr. Pohlman's property valuation to $102,000 in light of the market value of <br />the pool addition. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember Sorteberg stated that if the building cost <br />$23,845 and Mr. Wirz assessed it at $31,600; then the amount of the reduction <br />to the property valuation should be 1/2 of the discrepancy between the two <br />figures. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: <br />Voting No: None. Absent: <br /> <br />Counci1members Sorteberg, Cox and Schlueter. <br />Mayor Heitman and Councilmember Reimann. <br /> <br />Case #3: Debra Johnson - R11-32-25-42-0012: <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg stated that if Ms. Johnson has lost the use of her <br />basement due to water damage, Mr. Wirz will make an adjustment to the <br />valuation. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter <br />directing Mr. Wirz to review the Debra Johnson property again. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
