Mr. Wirz added that at the
time of subdivision, the County sets the valuation of the properties.

Councilmanber Reimann stated that maybe be Mr. Stritesky should be approaching
the County.

Mr. Wirz stated that the County can't do anything about last year's valuation
which is when the subdivision occurred.

Mr. Starkey stated that this year's board of review is to discuss 1985
property valuations for taxes payable in 1986; Mr. Stritesky's case refers to
1984 property valuations and nothing can be done about that now. Mr. Starkey
referred to the discussion on green acres and stated that when green acres
property is sold to anyone, other than a relative, it is restored for 3 years
payback. On the property in question, the two 20 acre parcels had their deed
filed prior to October 15 which resulted in the loss of the green acres
designation and restoration; the deed for the 40 acre parcel was not recorded
until after October 15 and will get restoration this year. Mr. Starkey stated
that the r~uiranents for green acres designation are as follows: hanestead,
own property for 7 years, show a farm income of $300/year plus $lO/tillable
acre, first year's application must be filed prior to May l.

Mr. Stritesky in;Iuired as to wtw his taxes are higher than the other 20 acre
parcel that was restored at the same time as his.

.

Councilmanber Reimann replied that the difference is caused ~ the fact that
Mr. Stritesky's parcel contains the building site.

Mr. Stritesky stated that there was a 3 year period where the land was vacant
of buildings and was designated green acres; how could it have been green
May 13, 1985
