<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />a) Leiislative- <br /> <br />No report at this time. <br /> <br />b) Economic And Finance Subcomwittee - <br /> <br />Commissioner Hardin stated that the subcommittee has been meeting with and/or <br />following up with letters to Mr. Kummala (incubator project), Mr. Kytonen <br />(relocation to Ramsey) and Al Phillips (Altron expansion). <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults stated that he will be meeting with Leonard Spone this <br />weekend regarding municipal utilities in the industrial area and tax increment <br />financing; Mr. Spone is glad to have someone with correct information to talk <br />to; proves out the need for an informed contact person developers and property <br />owners can contact. <br /> <br />c) Publicity Subcominittee - <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippel stated that he has contacted a couple of more firms/persons <br />that might be interested in producing Ramsey's video; there has been no <br />response; recommend accepting the quote of Slide Shows, Inc., the only firm <br />showing any real firm interest in the job. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Fults and seconded by Commissioner Hardin directing the <br />Publicity Subcommittee to proceed with production of the Ramsey video utilizing <br />the services of Slide Shows, Inc. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Commissioner Hardin inquired if there is a procedure for <br />spending money? Ms. Norris replied that there is no procedure for an <br />expenditure of this amount. Commissioner DeLuca stated that at the October 7 <br />Council meeting, Mayor Reimann brought up the fact that Ramsey has access to <br />video equipment through Group W Calbe T.V. and suggested investigating <br />production of a video with their assistance. Commissioner Kurak noted that the <br />cost breakdown from Slide Shows included a very minimum amount for fil~ing <br />and that professionalism should not be sacrificed. Commissioner Fults stated <br />that the project should not be delayed any longer; potential development is <br />being lost. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Kurak, Fults, <br />Hardin, DeLuca and Ippel. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Muller, <br />Vevea and Wagner. <br /> <br />d) Economic Develooment/Plannini and Zoni1l,i Subcommittee For Review Of <br />Development Standards - <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippel stated that through discussions it seems that the best way <br />to control development is with performance standards. Type of development <br />allowed would be determined by the level of services available. <br /> <br />Case 12: Discussion Reiardini Goal Settini Session: <br /> <br />Ms. Norris recommended that pursuant to the goal setting session of September <br />25, the Economic Development Commission make a presentation of goals and <br />October 8 t 1986 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 6 <br />
