<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />required funds to accomplish same to City Council. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults stated that he attended a Charter Commission meeting and <br />they are not anti-development. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg suggested that a business appreciation day would be one good <br />way to address the goal of providing a good development environment. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kurak and seconded by Commissioner Ippel to recommend <br />that the Economic Development Corporation schedule a Business Appreciation Day <br />to include a tour of Ramsey businesses. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Ippel, Kurak, <br />Hardin, DeLuca and Fults. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Muller, <br />Vevea and Wagner. <br /> <br />Case 13: Discussion Reiardini Use Of Landfill. Trust Ftind~: <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippel stated that City Council would like EnC to submit a budget <br />request for specific economic development activities to be funded from interest <br />money on the landfill fund. The State also now allows cities to levy for <br />economic development activities. Commissioner Ippel stated that it is <br />important to get funds to initiate economic development activity; there are a <br />lot of ways to then generate the funds to keep those activities going. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg referred to a draft proposal prepared by Ms. Norris <br />regarding tasks needing to be addressed relating to economic development; that <br />draft needs dollar figures supplied. <br /> <br />Commissioner DeLuca stated that the general consensus of Council is that the <br />use of landfill fund interest money is justified for use in economic <br />development activities as the landfill is a detriment to development; recommend <br />having a proposal to Council at their October 14 budget review meeting. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kurak volunteered to work up the dollar figures for the <br />presentation of tasks prepared by Ms. Norris. <br /> <br />Commissioner DeLuca stated that he feels the best way would be to approach <br />Council is for funding to accomplish those items that run parallel with the <br />Star City Program requirements. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippel noted that all the dollar figures needed can be found in his <br />proposal that he prepared months ago for accomplishing a whole spectrum of <br />economic development tasks. Suggested presenting the total budget for all <br />tasks rather than a few tasks at a time. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner DeLuca and seconded by Commissioner Fults to direct that <br />a one-year budget for the following subcommittees and tasks be prepared and <br />submitted to City Council on October 14, 1986: <br /> <br />1) Executive Subcommittee - <br /> <br />a) Oversee other subcommittees <br />Oc tober 8, 1986 <br /> <br />Page 4 of 6 <br />
