Commissioner DeLuca stated that he would not want to give the <br />impression that the tasks would be limited to those issues. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Commissioners Kurak, Fults, DeLuca, Ippel and <br />Muller. Voting No: None. Abstain: Chairman Greenberg. Absent: <br />Commissioners Hardin, Vevea and Wagner. <br /> <br />Case #6: Information Items: <br /> <br />A. Status of establishment of Landfill Commission - <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that an ordinance was presented to Council for adoption to <br />establish a Landfill Commission; it was tabled until August 26, 1986 to allow <br />more time to consider appropriate membership composition. <br /> <br />B. Star City Program - <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that she will be attending the Star City Conference on <br />September 16-18 and noted that as many EDC members as possible should also <br />attend that conference. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippel suggested the Commission hold a special meeting to do <br />strategic planning with respect to all requirements of the Star City Program, <br />other plans the city is trying to implement, an incubator project, additional <br />staffing, etc. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg suggested that this discussion be continued to the next EDC <br />meeting. <br /> <br />C. Extension of Thurston Avenue/coordination of street alignments between <br />Ramsey and Anoka - <br /> <br />Commission noted that Commissioner Fults and City Engineer Raatikka are working <br />with property owners of Anoka's industrial land adjacent to Ramsey to <br />coordinate alignment of streets through the industrial areas South of Industry <br />Avenue in Ramsey and Anoka. <br /> <br />D. Incubator facility - <br /> <br />Commission noted that on July 22, 1986, Council directed EDC to continue to <br />work on a business incubator facility in whatever form they determine makes the <br />most sense for Ramsey. <br /> <br />E. Rick Foster's request for tax increment financing assistance - <br /> <br />The Commission noted that on July 22, 1986 Council granted preliminary approval <br />to Mr. Foster's request for tax increment financing for site improvements in <br />the River's Bend Plaza PUD. <br /> <br />F. Extention of utilities to industrial area - <br /> <br />The Commission noted that on August 12, 1986 Council approved plans and specs <br />and set a bid date of September 9. <br /> <br />Page 5 of 6 <br />
