Absent: Commissioners <br />Muller and Fults. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hardin and seconded by Commissioner DeLuca to recammend <br />that Ci ty Council investigate the p:>ssibili ty of forming another Landfill <br />Committee to be made of one member each from City Council and all City <br />Commissions and two manbers of the private sector; this Landfill Committee <br />should have sJ;:ecific goals established by Council regarding issues dealing wi th <br />the landf ill. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Commissioner Kurak suggested that it be recammended that <br />the Landfill Committee be given a budget and Staff member at it's disp:>sal. <br />Olairman Greenberg and Commissioner IpJ;:el stated that Staff has always been <br />available and cooJ;:erative with the EDC and Airp:>rt Commissions. Commissioner <br />DeLuca stated that the Landfill Committee should be in effect as long as the <br />landfill is oJ;:en and oJ;:erating. Commissioner IpJ;:el stated that the Landfill <br />Committee should be in effect J;:ermanently to address issues after site closing. <br />Olairman Greenberg noted that the motion states that the Committee should be <br />formed to address landfill issues in general and not just one issue which would <br />imply a time limi t. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: Commissioners <br />Muller and Fults. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSTNFRS <br /> <br />("Al=lP 11: Snhconmi ttpp Rpnor~s: <br /> <br />a. r.p.aislativ~ Stlbconmitt~~ - <br /> <br />Conunissioner DeLuca stated that he has been in contact with Representative <br />Hartinger concerning: 1) Unanployment comJ;:ensation insurance; 2) Commercial <br />insurance; and 3) Conunercial real estate taxes. Representative Hartinger is <br />forwarding file regarding what the House of Representatives is prop:>sing on <br />these issues. Conunissioner DeLuca noted that the Governor and Senate are <br />prop:>sing to deal with this year's State budget shortfall in part by reducing <br />local goverrnnent aids; the House of Representative's prop:>sal is to not cut <br />back on local goverrnnent aids. <br /> <br />b) Economic and Financ~ Snhcrnmnittpp - <br /> <br />.
