.

.

.

Case #5: Discussion Regarding Planning and Zoning WOr~ Session On May 21 f
1985: Discussion With Ben Deemer Regarding Performanqe Zoning:

Mr. Ben Deemer was present and stated that the idea of performance zoning
places businesses according to performance standards rather than by land
zoning. Performance zoning will eliminate the need to rezone and conditional
use permits.

Chairman Greenberg expressed the Commission I s concern that businesses not
requiring municipal sewer and water not be placed in areas planned for those
services.

The Commission reviewed a letter dated May 24 from Mate Punch and Die regarding
their future expansion and need for municipal sewer services.

Mr. Deener noted that Mate Punch and Die does not name Ramsey as the city in
it's letterhead and suggested that all Ramsey businesses be encouraged to do
so.

Camnission consensus is that the Economic and Finance Subcomittee should
research the possibility of CDBG funds being used to extend the sewer trunk
line into the industrial area north of Hwy. #10; that the Economic Developnent
Camnission will conduct a special meeting, follC1tling the meeting of the Local
Developnent Cbmpany, on June 26 and the Economic and Finance Subcommittee
should report their findings at that time.

Chairman Greenberg stated that EDC mEmbers will plan on attending those
Planning and Zoning meetings dealing with the formulation of performance
zOning.

Case #6: Information: Arloka Count;y Economic Develq;ment partnershi,p
Meeting:

Ccmnission noted report from Roger Jenson on the May 10 strategic planning
meeting for the Anoka Cotmty Economic Developnent Partnership.

Case #7: Discussion Regarding '!bur Of Coomercial And Industrial Land
And Businesses:

Chairman Greenberg stated that a tour of Ramsey conmercial and industrial land
and businesses should be planned for in September; this item should be placed
on the next regular agenda for further discussion.

Case #8: Draft Of Letter To Landfill Ad Hoc Comnittee:

Ms. Norris stated that the letter will be included in the Landfill Ad Hoc
COImnittee agenda for June 17, 1985.

Case #9: Information Regarding Vacancies en Economic DevelQpment
Conmission:

Ms. Norris noted that Mr. Kurak and Mr. Geheren have atplied for the EDC
vacancies; Mr. Tom Gamee has withdrawn his application.
June 12, 1985
