<br />. <br /> <br />'. <br />j <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cox arrived at this time. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that Council received the charter on February 28, 1984 <br />and State law mandates that an election must be held within 90 days of <br />that date. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />Legislative Suboommittee - <br /> <br />No report. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cox stated that Ernie Larsen will be at the Friday morning <br />break~ast meetings at McGregor's and EDC should advise people in the area <br />to attend those meetings to address the issue of taxing proposals that <br />have been imposed on the people of Minnesota and find out what the state <br />has in mind for the future. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that Mr. Charles Weaver is serving on the Governor's <br />Tax Commission and that Commission will be making recommendations to the <br />1985 Legislative session. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Guy and seconded by Commissioner Cox that Mr. Charles <br />Weaver be invited to the next regular meeting of the Ramsey Economic <br />Development Commission for the purpose of receiving input regarding <br />Minnesota's taxing proposals. <br /> <br />c) Finance Subcommittee - <br /> <br />No report. <br /> <br />Case #2: Report On Projects (A. City Brochure; B. Formulation Of Economic <br />Policy; C. Proposed Recommended Uses Of CDBG Funds For 1985): <br /> <br />al City Brochure - <br /> <br />Discussed during Economic Subcommittee Report. <br /> <br />b) Formulation Of Economic Policy - <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg stated that Commissioner Schneider has not had the <br />time to follow up on the preparation of an Economic Policy and requested <br />that Commissioner Fults take over this project. Chairman Greenberg <br />requested that Commissioner Fults meet:with Commissioner Schneider regarding <br />an Economic Policy and have something ready for the Commission to review <br />at it's next regular meeting. Chairman Greenberg noted that Commissioners <br />Vevea and Cox have indicated that they want to be included in the meetings <br />for the purpose of preparing an Economic Policy. <br /> <br />c) Proposed Recommended Uses Of CDBG Funds For 1985 - <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that the City has approximately $120,000 available in <br />CDBG funds to be used for economic development. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg stated that he has contacted Burns and they are willing <br />to pool their CDBG funds with Ramsey's if they decide not to make use of <br />them within their City. <br /> <br />EDC/March 14, 1984 <br />Page 3 of 6 <br />
