<br />Commissioner Schmidt introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #84-1 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota Highway Department is planning to upgrade <br />Ferry Street (State Highway #169) and the bridge between the City of Champlin and <br />Highway #10 by widening the Mississippi River bridge and Ferry Street to relieve vehicular <br />traffic bottleneck; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mn/DoT has presented a specific proposal for the improvement of Ferry <br />Street (State Highway #169) which involves widening said roadway, adding turn lanes and <br />the installation of median strip; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey Economic Development Commission finds that Mn/DoT's <br />present plans are not adequate to handle present day vehicular traffic. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE RAMSEY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br />as follows: <br /> <br />1) The Ramsey EDC supports as a first priority item the establishment of an above <br />or below grade crossing and connector west of the Rum River but no further west than <br />Sunfish Lake Blvd. NW. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2) It is requested that the Ramsey City Council work with the Anoka City Council <br />and other concerned communities to urge Mn/DoT to establish alternative methods in <br />handling traffic bottleneck at State Highways #47 and #169. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner <br />Vevea and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Commissioners Schmidt, Vevea, Greenberg, Muller, Miller, Fults, Guy and Hardin <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Commissioners Cox and Schneider <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey Economic <br />Development Commission this the 18th day of April 1984. <br /> <br />~~. <br /> <br />EDC Chairman Donald Greenberg '7 <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />--."..- <br /> <br />--~'... <br />
