<br />Commissioner Schmidt introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br />RESOLUTION :184-2 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, MnjDoT has proposed an expansion of the present Mississippi River <br />bridge; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Anoka has gone on record as opposing the widening of the <br />current Mississippi River bridge and has recommended an alternate method in that a new <br />bridge be constructed upstream from the present bridge; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey Economic Development Commission states that another <br />bridge crossing upstream from the present Mississippi River bridge crossing is equally <br />as important as all other requests in removing the T.H. #47 and #167 bottleneck in the <br />City of Anoka. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) The Economic Development Commission supports a second Mississippi River <br />bridge crossing to alleviate traffic bottleneck that occurs in the City of Anoka. <br /> <br />Z) It is therefore requested that the Ramsey City Council and other concerned <br />communities support the City of Anoka on this issue. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner <br />Fults and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Commissioners Schmidt, Fults, Greenberg, Muller, Miller, Vevea, Guy and Hardin <br /> <br />./ <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Commissioners Cox and Schneider <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey Economic <br />Development Commission this the 18th day of April, 1984. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br />
