<br />Motion by Commissioner Miller and seconded by Commissioner Guy to approve <br />special Economic Development Commission meeting minutes dated April 18, 1984. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Motion carried. voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Miller, Guy, <br />Hardin, Vevea and Muller. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Cox, <br />Schneider and Schmidt. <br /> <br />NOTE AIRPORT COMMISSION AND CHARTER COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />Commission noted the following: <br /> <br />L Regular CHarter Commission meeting minutes dated April 12, 1984. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Subcommittee Reports: <br /> <br />a) Legislative Subcommittee - <br /> <br />Commissioner Muller stated that he had no report at this time. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that Representative Ernie Larson and Senator Greg Dahl <br />were very helpful to Ramsey during the last legislative session and <br />Commissioner Muller should contact Mr,. Larson regarding any other is"Sues <br />that need attention. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cox arrived at this time. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />b) Economic Subcommittee - <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults was not present. <br /> <br />c) Finance Subcommittee - <br /> <br />Commissioner Schmidt was not present. <br /> <br />Case # 2 : Government Gr.ants: <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle referred to Enclosure D.2.a in the agenda and stated grants have <br />been passed by the State for expansion of business and creation of new business. <br />Mr. Schnelle also stated that the amount of dollars acquired through these <br />grants depends on the number of jobs created by the expansion or new business. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle referred to Enclosure D.2.b of the agenda and stated that <br />local government aid for Ramsey has increased has a result of the past <br />legislative session. This changes resulted in an additional $68,000 for the <br />City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cox pointed out that Mr. Schnelle had a real understanding for <br />the problems in distribution of local aids and worked very hard to bring <br />about this change. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that this legislative session has also resulted in a <br />tax break for businesses; legislators have come to the realization that <br />the business outlook in Minnesota has declined ever since the 1975 Wendell <br />Anderson circuit-breaker. <br /> <br />EDC!May 9, 1984 <br /> <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />
