The City Engineer has
determined that even with existing ordinances, the City has the option to
deny the request. Commissioner Ippel stated that the final draft of the
airport zoning ordinance has been forwarded to MN/DoT for approval and it
would specifically preclude any type of operation such as requested by
Barton because of hazards to airport traffic created by dust, smoke and
steam.

Discussion ensued regarding the possibility of allowing Barton to extract
aggregates from the site but not to manufacture asphalt.

Ms. Norris stated that Planning and Zoning has not taken any action
regarding the request; Barton is looking for alternative sites.

Case 15: Discuss'iori ReiardingLoniRallie Platlriirii Foz-City:

Consensus was that long range planning will be addressed with an intern
working on Star City activities; action has been taken to recommend hiring
an intern.

Case #6: Discussion Reiardirii Proposed MSA Roadd AliinmeritIrid Ramseyl
Anoka1ndustrialArea:

Chairman Greenberg stated that there is a need to coordinate with Anoka for
an MSA road connecting Anoka and Ramsey industrial areas.

The Commission delegated Commissioners Vevea, Fults and Gorecki to a task
force to initiate coordinating the establishment of an MSA road between
Anoka and Ramsey industrial areas. City Engineer Raatikka should be
included in these efforts.

Ms. Norris was directed to research Ramsey's commitment to an MSA road
between Anoka and Ramsey.

Case' #7:

Illforma tionIteins:

EDC/May 13, 1987
